Transporting your cake from one location to another is quite a serious matter. You don’t want it to fall down and your wedding has not even started it will definitely be a disappointment. And you don’t want things like that to happen especially during your most special day. Your wedding day. But don’t worry; there are ways and guidelines on how to transport your cake the easy and less stressful way.
There are certain things that you need to check before transporting your cake. First is to check the base of your cake. Make sure that the base if secured in a well constructed cardboard. The cardboard but be of thick quality so that the cake will have a full support to it. A heavy base however requires that your cake will be placed on ½ inches plywood. Next thing to check is the pillar that is if your cake is designed with pillars around it. It is suggested that fin transporting it, it must be unassembled. This is to avoid any possible things that might happen to it when traveling down a road inside a car and the car had to make a sudden stop or turn. It is much safer if you put away toppers and candles so they will not create a smudge on your cake in case they make an unexpected motion.
If your cake is both with pillars or with those that are in assembled tiers then you need to separately transfer them. Never carry transport and place your cake in a non-air conditioned car because it will melt the cake icings. And make sure that the spot where your put them is stable and flat to avoid any deformation along the way.
It is suggested to use a rolling cart upon reaching the reception area so that it will be easier to move it from one area to another without risking it from falling to the ground. Prepare the table to which the cake will be placed ahead of time. Plan it out ahead so you need not transfer it from one place to another. It will save your time at the same time lessen the risk of accidents that might happen to your cake. It is wise that you bring with you a repair kit in case some part of your cake’s icing has melted and you need to repair it by adding your extra icings or if it’s a flower that got destroyed a little bit you may replace it with those that you have on your repair wedding cake kit.
