Live Wedding Music: Why And How To Decide On

Live wedding music has the potential to really boost the energy of your wedding and can even make the event more memorable and impressive. Music is about expressing the joy and happiness to be celebrated; however, the temper of the music you play depends entirely on the theme of your reception and who your guests are.

If you’re having a themed wedding, you will want to select music according to theme. For instance, if you’re having a Hawaiian wedding party, you may want to hire Hawaiian musicians and perhaps even hula dancers. A good live music band will have both good experienced vocalists and instrumentalists, capable of playing varying requests. The setting of your reception should be attractive and coordinate with the light and music as well. There also need to be different methods of amplifying the music and devices.

The music should alternate tone and intensity, from slow and smooth to upbeat and energetic. Live bands create a magical ambience, and when there’s live music involved, your guests will want to dance, especially when the occasion is permitting!

Like all things in planning your wedding, it is best to plan your live music well beforehand. You will want to ensure the venue will accommodate enough space for the band and your guests. The band will need to arrive early in order to set up, test their instruments and sound devices prior to the arrival of your guests.

You will want to ask the band how much space they will require to perform and any particular necessities. For instance, they may require a break in between performances, in which case you may want to plan for something to fill in the gap. If there isn’t anything planned within this gap, the flow of the reception may break. You could also prepare some pre-recorded music to dance to.

Before hiring a band, you should deal with some very important points. Take time to listen to the music the band will be playing and ensure it coordinates well with the atmosphere of the wedding. Most bands are very adaptable and can deal with many unseen situations or special requests.

It’s also advised that you take note of any issues in writing so that you can keep them organized and ensure your wedding is flawless. Like the music that will be played at your reception, you want every note of your wedding to resonate perfectly.
